NVIDIA
Note: We recommend that you download and install the specified drivers for your graphics card. To download the most recent drivers, please visit the NVIDIA website.
As a formal policy, NVIDIA Corporation does not support the use of non-CAD rated cards with Autodesk Inventor. They will work with some limitations. NVIDIA makes the chipset and the basic driver. The actual cards are sold through other sources. Such tested chipsets as the GeForce, GeForce2, and GeForce 3 are representative of their class. Autodesk does not attempt to test every possible variation of this card.
Note: ELSA drivers are made by NVIDIA, and can be found here. Drivers released from ELSA, however, may perform differently than those released from NVIDIA.

- Starting with Autodesk Inventor 5, TNT2 cards will be automatically detected and users will be required to select their card (e.g. - ERAZOR III -or- Synergy II).
- NT 4 requires Service Pack 6.
- If you use the ELSA drivers, be sure to use the Default setting on the AppSet tab of the Display Properties dialog box. Autodesk Inventor will not work correctly if you select the Autodesk Inventor setting on the AppSet tab.
- R3 only Comments All OSes Using the driver version given in the certification page, users may see problems slicing parts and assemblies, such as strips of grey painted across the graphics window.
- It is recommended that the ELSA drivers are used instead of the NVIDIA drivers for this particular card.
- Users may not be able to open more than five (5) windows of hardware acceleration in high color mode. Card should not be used with true color unless hardware acceleration can not be gained in any other mode.
- If you use 65,536 colors, you may not get any hardware acceleration. In that case, use True Color.
- NT 4 requires Service Pack 6.
- If you use the ELSA drivers, be sure to use the Default setting on the AppSet tab of the Display Properties dialog box. Autodesk Inventor will not work correctly if you select the Autodesk Inventor setting on the AppSet tab.
- R3 only Comments Windows NT & 2000 Using the ELSA drivers given in the certification page, users may see problems slicing parts and assemblies, such as strips of grey painted across the graphics window.
- R3 only Comments Windows 98 Using the driver version given in the certification page, markers cannot be seen. Users may see problems slicing parts and assemblies, such as strips of grey painted across the graphics window. You cannot embed a Microsoft Word document in a drawing if you use this card or driver combination.
- User may only be able to open two (2) windows of hardware acceleration in true color mode. It is recommended that users run this card in 16-bit color mode. True-Color mode should not be used with this card.
- NT Service Pack 6 is recommended.
- Autodesk Inventor 4 NOTE: You must download the appropriate Hardware Library from UPDATES to obtain the correct registry settings for this card.
- Autodesk Inventor 4 Using the above driver, users may see problems slicing parts and assemblies, such as strips of grey painted across the graphics window.
- Autodesk Inventor 3 Comments for Microsoft Windows 2000 Using the driver version given in the certification page, Autodesk Inventor crashes when users open two (2) or more windows, at the same time, and tries to close Autodesk Inventor.
- Autodesk Inventor 3 Comments for Microsoft Windows 98 - Using the driver version given in the certification page, texture mapping may not be displayed correctly.
- Windows 2000 users may only be able to open six (6) windows of hardware acceleration in 16-bit color mode. Windows NT 4.0 users should be able to open at least ten (10) windows of hardware acceleration in 16-bit color mode. True-Color mode should not be used with this card.
- See Pine TNT 2 notes above.

Note: On some NVIDIA
chipsets: slicing graphics may cause shaded parts to disappear, or significantly
slow down frame rate. Using conservative settings fixes this problem.
Sometimes closing a
document before saving leaks memory. This can be avoided by saving before
closing the document.
- Quadro and Quadro2 cards should not be run in High color mode. Users may see significant performance degradation when slicing a part or assembly.
- TNT Cards are not supported by the NVIDIA Detonator 3 drivers, versions 12.41 and later.
